Utensils Trader Found Hanging in Lucknow; Family Alleges Murder by Wife

Lucknow – A utensils trader was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in the Sikandarpur area of Banthra police station limits on April 9, 2025, marking a chilling turn in what was initially considered a case of suicide. The incident has now taken a dramatic twist after the deceased’s family accused his wife of murder and blamed the police for negligence in the investigation.

The deceased, Ashish Sinha, a resident of Shastri Nagar, ran a utensils shop near Parag Dairy in Ashiyana. He had been residing in Sikandarpur with his wife, Neha. On April 9, his body was found hanging from a noose made of a dupatta inside their home. It was Neha who informed the police, calling it a case of suicide.

However, Ashish’s sister Anita and his mother have now come forward alleging that he was, in fact, murdered. They claimed that Ashish’s body bore multiple injury marks at the time of the incident. The family further alleged that Neha had been harassing Ashish over financial matters and had made his life miserable.

Serious Allegations Against Police

The victim’s family has also accused Banthra police of negligence and shielding the accused. In the FIR submitted at the local police station, Neha, along with her brother and father, has been named as an accused in the case.

Anita, Ashish’s sister, said that Neha had called her after discovering the body. When Anita reached the house, she allegedly found Ashish’s body lying on the bed—not hanging—raising further suspicion. She also mentioned that the couple had been living in separate rooms for nearly a month, suggesting ongoing tensions in their relationship.

The police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by Ashish’s family and assured that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the truth behind the incident.

As the case unfolds, serious questions are being raised about domestic abuse, possible foul play, and police accountability. The family continues to demand justice for Ashish, insisting that the case should not be closed as a suicide without a comprehensive and transparent probe.
